I have the day off on Monday so I will be at a friends killing each other and others online.

I will have to play a HL deathmatch with crowbars... I just love the sound of that thing. Ping! Ping! Crunch! Crunch! Smash! Ping! Ping!

Apart from laggy play and team killing, it is very entertaining (the mplayer demo I've been playing).

Game sucks on my end. I'll try it with a new videocard one day and get back to you.

Damn that game blows though....

And your profile says you live in Vancouver.

My question: Where did you get it?!

I have BF1942. I love the game, but it is frustrating playing multiplayer, since it can take me as long as 3-4 minutes to load a level. I mean, I know the game's a resource hog and all, but I'm used to loading levels in 10-15 seconds, max, in most games. I have 1 2000+ running on a KT266A with 512M DDR, so it doesn't seem like it should be taking that long.

That's my only gripe with the game. Other than that, it's awesome.

I want to move to space, so I can overclock processors cooled to absolute zero.

I love the game. I recently got crap loads more Ram so it runs sweet as hell now. And for being on dialup, the game runs suprisingly smooth

(nothing beats dropping a bomb into a crowd of 5 or more people, woo)

It's all good ^_^

Runs fine on my comp. I have a 2000+ Athlon XP with 512 DDR and loading times are only 20-40 seconds. I know hardrive speed contributes to loading maps and such so maybe you need to upgrade your HD?

As far as the game goes, I like it alot, except....theres NO TEAMWORK, well not what Im used to anyways. I play Ghost Recon and Rogue Spear where teamwork is critical but on BF1942, its hard just trying to hitch a ride to the battlefield. LOTS of rambos on this game, but playing with a clan can easily solve the teamwork issue. Great Maps by the way.

Ihave BF1942 and the road to rome expansion. Great fun on a lan or online.

I have three systems running it at various detail levels.

P3 933 GF2 PRO64mb 800x600x16 low to medium detail looks deacent with good frame rates

P3 1000 G3 TI200 64mb 1024x768x16 medium detail looks good with good frame rates

P3 1.26@1583 G4 4200 128mb 1024x768x32 everything set to highest possible except shadows.Looks great 60 to 110 FPS unless I'm running the server.

We normally set up 2 or 3 way calls with everyone on the speaker phones for conversation and tactics discussion.

I aint signing nothing!!!

Aaaah.. Battlefield,I enjoy wasting many an evening on this game although I far prefer to use the Desert Combat mod, as this blows spots of the original game (even though it can't force people to work together) you can get it from http://www.desertcombat.com.

I did think that the Road to Rome expansion was something of a rip off, in that it didn't even add to the original single player campagin - it was basically a map pack..

I play the multi player demo, been playing it since it came out I'm just too damned cheap to pay for it. I don't know how they could improve upon wake island anyways. And those japanese servers are house.

Treat your body like a $600 car. God didn't intend it to last so use it. Run it into the ground!
