Hi,

A couple of quick questions...

I joined the team a week ago (sorry no large WUs to transfer but I have a few CPUs running SETI so I'm racking a reasonable number up now) and was looking at the page

http://tomssetiteam.cjb.net/

How often does it get updated and on the team stats page why do I (and some others) have a big NOT VALID next to my stats under data validity check?

Thanks,

Pete.

The guy doing the stats has been travelling recently, so I have been helping him to save the stats the past ten days, however they should be updated very soon.
I see that you are doing quite well recently with 4-5 units/day.
I don't know how many PCs you have or their configuration nor if you are running the graphical version or the cmd version.
For your reference only one Athlon 800-1Ghz can do more than 3-3.5/day and a slow Celeron almost 2/day. So if yuo have a few PCs you should easily do more than 4-5 if you run the Seti Driver. I have 5 PCs and I do 13-14/day now.
I hope to see you climbing the charts!
Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply!

I have a pair of machines running at home (full time access to the 'net) one is a PIII 733 and one a P-Pro 200. As you say, I'll get 3 a day out of the PIII (usually) and 1 a day out of the P-Pro (with a tail wind).

I just 'recruited' a couple more PIIIs at work (400 & 800) today which also run fulltime. The downside is that most of my machines are actually fairly busy when I'm at them... The home PIII got a hammering tonight as I've been doing a lot of home movie editing. DV capture is okay - but DV-AVI to MPEG2/4 kinda eats into that seti time... :o(

I'll see what sort or work rate I'm turning by the end of the week with my 'new recruits' on board. I'm not going to break any records - but hopefully I'll return a useful contribution to the THG SETI team...

FYI all machines run cmdline under NT4 or 2K - no screensavers.

Thanks,

Pete.
