I have a AMD athlone x2 64 4200+
Kingston 1 gig
6800 128mb

Im thinking of upgrading my memory to 2 gig with Corsair, if i did that would my video card be able to run on Medium settings smoothly, probably even high?

Easily, it depents on wich fps you want to play. But i play BF2 @ high with only lightning effects on medium and it runs easily on 1gig ram. Before i had a 6600 256mb (non gt) wich i overclocked and it ran bf2 on high too (not perfect, but it was ok). But with the 128mb of Vram you need to put the textures down to medium, thats the "problem" that uber_g is talking about.

You should ugrade to 2Gb and an X800GTO like Fearex have can will let you play smooth and good settings on BF2.

Sounds like a plan. Defintely go with the ram 1st of all. And whatever is in your price range for a new video card, can determine what you can get. If your 6800 is AGP, then go with a x800GTO for like 129 at newegg.com or if its PCI-e, well theres more options for you then.

2 gig of ram will help a little but you really need to up grade the gfx card i have a 7800GTX 512mb and that runs so smooth on full gfx settings

but as they say ram in BF2 is a real boost as it eats it up like me and cheeseburgers
