Hello, I have upgraded a computer from Windows ME to Windows XP Pro. The
upgrade job worked fine and everything except the internet connection
problem is OK.
What happens is that the modem is dialing and in fact, authenticating
username and password with the ISP and so far it LOOKS great, but when
trying to access a website or reading mails no connection can be made, and
it times out.. I can't understand why since the ISP login works. If I
connect an older computer with another modem - everything is just fine..
Could it be that XP might demand a better phone line than 98/Me? (I have a
56K Dynalink modem, but never get more speed than 36k)
