I have an Iwill DVD266u-RN and it has been working fine. One day this week I noticed that my monitor was dark and I figured that it kicked into sleep mode and wouldn't come out. I forced a shut down and when it came back up, no video.

I unplugged the monitor and plugged it back in then booted and it went right into WinXP. I figured that the monitor plug was bad. (Very old monitor 1993)

The next reboot, nothing. I closely observed the computer when it comes on and there isn't the normal beep when it is booting and the hard drives never spin up. The cd-roms won't eject with the power on, which seems strange to me.  The fans, and they are numerous are all running and the light on the MB is lit up.

I have tried a couple of video cards that work in other computers and that isn't the problem.  I have made no changes.

Is my Mobo dead??

I am really upset because I just got a 22" Mitsubitshi monitor for that comptuer and can't even try it out.

Thanks,

Kirk

Many CD-roms behave strangely like that when booting up. However, if it is an anomaly then it would fit right in with the hard drives not spinning up. It would lead me to believe that your power supply is not working properly, although it could be the mainboard. Most likely however it's the power supply. Try hooking up another power supply if you have one just to the mainboard and hard drive and start up your computer. If the hard drive spins up, then you know that the problem is with your power supply.
