I've just been to gamershell and am confused as to which patch I should download for FEAR, which I've just installed. 1.7 I think is the latest but seems only to mention stuff about multiplayer issues which I'm not really interested in. Does the 1.7 contain all the previous patches cos I noticed some of the earlier one are much bigger in size??

NO u don't really need any patch really unless your into Multiplayer. I would Stick with the 1.6. I don't know about other people but I noticed a light decrease in performance when I installed the 1.7, So I would stick with the 1.6. Various sites have mentioned that theres no Single Player Fixes in these. Just keep your DX9,Sound & Video Card drivers up to date and you should be fine; Unless they release a patch that deals more with the Single Player Campaign.

when i reinstalled it on my comp and played a little (day or so)
then updated from the original version to patch 1.5
and it was like a new game (brighter smoothergameplay
and faster like i had sli or something.

my rig
