why bother? its not as if your gonna see much performance improvment, if any.

i look at features and i agree with you on it.

if i didn't have to buy a new processor and ram i'd get an Intel board lol!

Yep, and both are more stable, compatable, and less likely to cause single bit errors in your files than anything VIA produces. The 735 beat the KT266, so VIA threatened to short supply any manufacturers that used it. The 745 is very close to the KT333 in performance, and has none of it's problems.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

when you say 745 you mean SIS right? let me look into it ... and do you know if SIS is coming out with anything new chipsetwise?

and i know what you mean too VIA sucks. I have RAID setup and i'm only getting 31500 when i should be getting at least 36000 in sandra 2002.

problem with the 745 .. there arn't any boards that have RAID. I need the extra controller. I have 6 IDE devices.

Yes, MSI and Asus both have 745 boards, the MSI 745 Ultra has USB 2.0 And it's cheap enough at $60 that you could add any kind of cards you like, including RAID cards.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

 i like toasted cpus but not AMD-inside.

right, once i get my engineering degree and work for Intel i'll ahh think about modifying a raid card. ;) which by the way i'm a Computer Information Systems major. i was computer science but the major is way to bloody hard. either that or the school sucked. and i'll bet the school sucked actually. UB, worst school. ok if you're a brainiac and can teach the fundamentals and theories by yourself. lol! Might as well just independent study heh.
