Hey

Me and friends are looking to host a dedicated server for Counter Strike source. I can create the server but only I can join. I know it has to do with external IP's and stuff. But i just want to simply know how.

You’re best actually hosting a dedicated server, and then running your game on top of that. Keep in mind though that you will only be able to get 4-5 players per 256k of upload bandwidth with out lag at the very most.

as cufuddled said download the source dedicated server and make sure you start it as an internet server. i am not to sure on this as i have only used the lan one but you may have to allow the port(s) it uses to accept incoming data.

also as cufuddled said you need a good connection, expecially upload or people will not get regualr updates unless you operate at a very low tick rate.
