My computer was working fine this morning. When I started it tonight I have no sound.Checked Device Manager. It says that my soundcard is working properly with the correct deiver.Checked control Panel/Multimedia:the multimedia dialog box is blank.Checked Control Panel/Sound.The small arrow is highlited,so is the square box when I selec a sound. But I receive an error message saying that the C/Windows/Media can not play this or that wave chord. That the file may br damaged or is not a valid sound file.I use Windows 98 SE.My computer is a 800 MHZ,256 ram ,20gb HD with integrated sound.

I think you might need to uninstal and reinstal your soundcard drivers.
