More Information

Afer a hardware upgrade, my installation of BF2 keeps either crashing to desktop, or bluescreening, when playing online and single player games.

This problem occurred soon after I upgraded the memory in my PC. Initially, I had 2 X 512Mb installed into my machine - BF2 ran fine, albeit with some lag. I then added another 2 X 512 Mb sticks into my PC (a total of 4 x 512Mb), and then BF2 started to crash randomly.

All other programs are stable with this new hardware installed, and I have no OS (WinXP) stability issues.

The extra ram is the of same brand (Kingmax) and CAS latency as first 2 ram sticks I had in my PC (tho different model). I have tried increasing latency from 2.5 to 3 with no improvement on stability.

I have checked the windows error log file after BF2 crashes, and it just tells me there was an unspecificed error.

I am 99% sure that the new ram is not defective.

Could any1 please advise what I can do to fix this problem.

My Specs are:
AMD XP 64 3700+
Albatron Geforce 7900GT
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium NF4, with latest bios firmware
WinXP SP2
BF2 with 1.4 patch
Chipset firmware 6.86
Video drivers 91.something
