Couple questions, i'm going to have a dual boot system windows xp and REDhat9.

COuple quick questions, is there a way to do this with linux without having to reformat?

Does the driver for the nf7-s work solid? So i don't have to worry about my onboard Ehternet connection..

And lastly any newby tips you can give me?

I don't know about redhat 9 including the driver for the ethernet... It may work, but I can't guarantee it. I do know however that it's included in the 2.6.x kernels.

The install program will allow you to resize your windows partitions accordingly, so no reformat is required. If you're uneasy, then partition magic will do the trick.

I'll trust the redhat 9 ,but after hours of googling i think i've decided against linux for awhile even though i really want to give it a go.

NF7-s isn't really supported that great yet, everyone's having troubles with SATA controllers, and the onboard NIC.
I don't think i'm ready to tackle those problems yet.. i just want it to get up and running.. at least internet capable.. is that so hard to ask.. unfortunately Bill has decided yes.

my soundblaster live 5.1 is supported, and 9800pro is.
Kinda pissed off to be honest, i was hoping to have a dual boot system by the end of the night.

Get a distro based on the 2.6.x kernel. It'll all be supported then. Fedora should work.

I've got an A7N8X deluxe, and my SATA and onboard nic work fine. The audio is a bit of a pain, and the second onboard nic was too (didn't really need a second one though).

haha! guess what good(really bad) news today, i wont have to worry about a nic ever anymore. Basically i'm forced into moving with my parents to a township that doesn't not only have Cable but has no DSL either. The only option i have is sattelite , not even 56k.
Do you even understand the affect,as sad as that sounds, it's going to have on me.

Luckily for me, i don't have a good enough job to move out.. and neither do my friends. I guess i can thanks Mr. Bush for that.

Seriously considering giving up on life.

Does the new fedora core 2 test 2 have a 2.6 kernel?
