Hi, I have a Compaq laptop (R3240US) with an Integrated wireless
card(802.11G). I have hear that Netgear has had some issues with Integrated
card (most often Dell). I was wondering if anyone has had any experience
with Compaq (good or bad) with compatibility and the WGR614. Or even, if
there is some insight on the WGR614. I have had NetGear RP614 and have been
very pleased. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks, Guy

I think it is a decent router. You can find more info at Amazon.com

Thank you, this was helpful (didn't think of this). I think I will give it
a shot. There are other complaints (but you always get some). Looks like the
odds are in my favor. I will let everyone know, how it goes.

Thanks,
Guy

The WGR614 is a great router/access point. The security features are
commendable and the ease of setup is great. One drawback I had with
mine was that I often had to reboot it. Now I only use the WGR614 as
a router only. I currently use the Belkin F5D7230-4 as my access
point.

Well...I bought it, hooked it up and all it fine. It was very simple and I
spent all day (yesterday) on my wireless connection. No issues so far. I
have the encryption disabled, but will work on getting setup in the next
couple days.

So far I have been very pleased with the performance/easy setup and no lost
connections.

Setting up the encryption is a piece of cake with the WGR614. When I
was using the WGR614v1 as an access point, I downloaded the latest
beta software (1400) regarding WPA-PSK and it worked great. Anyway,
I'm glad you're satisfied with your purchase. Enjoy.
