This is something crazy I was reading while surfing on some sites. If this is true what will become of windows vista if even game developers will start to put spyware in their software? :S Sony allready got caught a while back trying to do the same......more and more companies are getting guilty in putting spyware in their programms. It's no longer an Internet problem. The problem is now even with the products we buy? :S

EA aren't mugs. They've picked a game that is so anticipated and hyped that any attempt by the gaming community to organise a boycott is unlikely to be successful. Shame.

I hope that every magazine and site that reviews the game makes a big point about the spyware. People should be aware of it long before they even take the game to the till.

SWAT 4 & (I think - it could have been a passive in game ad system) Splinter Cell 3 were doing this last year already. It's a shame.

Ideally we could all just pirate more until the industry is on its knees begging us to poor money into it again. Unfortunately average joe just keeps on buying the mainstream mediocre crap & keeping funds away from doing true good.

I might be willing to get a game that used advertising or even some forms of this "spyware" but not after I've spent fifty bucks on the game to start with. If they make the game free then I'll play it, but otherwise not a chance.

Yeah, shame on EA. I don't mind the fact that there is ads in a game. What I do mind is and extra process running in the background. as negligible as it may be, some of us are hardcore computer buffs and want as little a performance hit as possible. For instance my xp looks like win2k. I shut everything off. So this is why the whole adware/spware thing gets to me.
