PNG are image files that are opened by Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Put the
PNG file in your 'my pictures' file then double click on it and Windows Pictur
and Fax viewer will open it.

Not all file extensions are readable in a format that you would understand..
some are used from within applications, and can't be read as understandanle
text..

I should have added there are some PNG files that are not viewable (not a
picture).

PNG files are Portable Newwork Graphics and most can be opened by
a graphics application. If you are having problems with some graphics
formats, you can download IrfanView which will open just about any
graphics program on the WWW. IrfanView - one of the most popular viewers worldwide
