I just noticed this , this morning when I attempted to start up BF 2142. When I attempt to play it, the screen goes black for a moment then just kicks back to the desktop. When I attempt to play fear, I get an error message (even fear combat which doesnt check for a disk).

As of right now the only game I can play is Wow. Dvd Movies also play fine, just not the games. If anyone can help me with this problem I would much appreciate it.

If fear combat does it too then its not a drive problem. Did you change any hardware lately? how long have you had your computer? It sounds like it just craps out on certain games since movies work fine.

I figured it out, it was the drivers i was using (91.47) im running a 7950gx2 and had to revert to an older driver set. everythings fine now.
