Is anyone running ONLY one hard drive on the one of the "promise" ports? I haven't got my system up and running yet but am trying to plan ahead. Just to make sure things are clear:
I have a cd drive hooked up to each regular IDE port and want to plug my hard drive into the "PROMISE IDE1" port. Will this work even though I won't be using raid (since I only have one hard drive)?

yes that works. you have to switch the second controller from raid mode to ide mode.
