It does not work like that, Battle Field 2 was a new engine upgrade over one that was about 3 years old at that pint. The Battle Field 2142 uses the same engine but it has been changed for the better. Of course it is going to get a lower review score but that’s because it is not a completely new, but it is better than Battle Field 2. You don’t have to take my word on this play the demo for your self. Keep in mind that the full version of the game has a very detailed upgrade system, one that puts Battle Field 2 to shame.

At the end of the day the engine is the same but with a better and more refined upgrade system so the engine it’s self is better so you need to look at the key points of what kind of play you like.

*2142 has a faster more intense combat style being a lot more hectic and making you work a lot more as a team rather than players out for your pints.

*No vehicles land, sea or air has an overpowering stance in the game like Battle Field 2’s chopper… (Oh how I loved getting 100 points + by completely decimating the enemy teams armour)

*Much better balanced maps, none of this one team always wins over the other crap.

But as I said try it out for your self, I enjoy it more than Battle Field 2 if that counts for anything.

For god sake it's only your opinion/guess that the spyware does anything other than just report back to the server about how you looked at their adverts in game. Right put it this way if you don’t want the game reporting back on how and when you look at the almost non-existent adverts in the game then don’t get it.

I would like to see some people posting back on this game soon as all you are getting now is the people who have refused to buy the game complaining… All the people who actually got it are already playing it and have not got enough time to post back on the forum. If it were not for work I would not be on here either.

lol if it would have been just the reporting back part regarding the adverts i would not even bother to post a single reply regarding 2142, but unfortunetly there is a bit more to it, than just checking how long one looked at a particular ad, unforunetly, otherwise i wouldnt mind that and would probably get the game
(im just trying to informt those that might not know about it, i admit it might get boring to those who are on these forums more often, but to newcomers its new)

Where is your proof that the advertisement software does anything other than just keep check on what your doing in-game, how can you possibly say with any degree of certainty that this game spies on what you are doing in the day to day running of your PC. Can you even back up the statement that is looks in your cookies?

i read that in the other linq, i doubt that the only thing that that app does is that, btw check the slip in the box, and compare it to the ea's statement they gave out just after many ppl on their boards became talking about the spyware, ea changed their info, it was contradicting the one on the slip in the box(in some areas) and thats whyat made it evan more fishy, lets look even just at the part they say the info will monitor the data even when the game is not running, and then ea posted a thread in which they dsaid that the monitoring software will run "only when the gameis running" and on the slip it said otherwise, thats just one thing that pissed me off, so basically ea will "leak to the press" or say whatever the consumers want to hear, not the "truth"

If a company like EA lies it becomes a big legal matter, more so if it’s something as public as this. I don’t feel my self that this is a lie and as I work in a big company my self that deals with products on the same level. Mistakes can happen, even very stupid ones. Fishy is not enough for me not to buy something, and fishy from a big company likes EA is not as fishy as something from a small firm EA cant afford it to be.

You’re almost starting to sound like the conspiracy theorist that lives at the end of my street. Everything is a conspiracy and you must take everything everyone says as complete lies, more so when they hold some form of power! “9/11 was caused by the US government just like president Kennedy wash shot by people in high up places” Hell next you will be going to community meetings with these people then after a short amount of time you will start to believe things this man has to say:

see thats what i do not like about some, if just one person breaks from the lines with a point of view , which goes against the "allmighty ea" that person needs to be flamed, i just hate that, btw if you would look at the slip which is in the box, and ea's representativ's post on their message boards you will see a distinkt difference, in the meaning(wording, and such) and this is not a "mistake" this is donr on purpose, do u call the first bf2142 patch a mistake? knowing that it disabled certain windows update related features/components? no, and blooring the "truth" is not realy a mistake, honestly check the se 2 that i mentioned and unlsee you are realy a ea "fanatic"(which im not calling You) you will see the differences betwean what was in the box, and what was stated by ea just after many were informed about the spyware, ea just tried to "defend" themselves, but screwed up even on that, besides its not only me, check some reviews, and such, i think in the inquiere, bf2142 was refered to as "spywareinfested bf2142" (and that was in an article regarding dx9, not even an article related to the game, i thinkfiring squad was also complaning about it, and some more sites, so im clearly not the only one here that has some issues.
