Asus A7M266 CPU Multipier & Voltages

Hi, I have an Asus A7M266 in which I have upped the FSB to overclock. I am running an Athlon 1.33 @ 1.4 (Not a big change) but want to change the multiplier so that I don't effect the PcI and ram bus. I am running at the factory Bios and the multiplier option is there but greyed out. I have connected the L1 bridges with conductive strips but the cpu multiplier is still greyed out. I have read that people have managed to change it with this board I just need one of them to tell me if i need to change any of the jumer settings to enable this option in the bios or to physically change it on the motherboard. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also I am curious about the the reasons for upping the voltages (stability at high overclock???) and at what point i should think about doing that.
