Has anybody had any problems with 8K3A mobo with regards t installing an O/S. I could not get either Win2KPro or XP Pro to install without problems. I contacted my supplier and they told me to load the BIOS default settings and then try again. The install went with out a hitch and everything works O.K now. I was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem.

I'm sorry, I can't all I know is that the defaults worked for me. I have spoken to my supplier again about this and all they said is that that is what they had to do, but they didn't give me a reason. If I do here anything I will let you know. Sorry

nope. no problems here. OS works fine.
maybe there was some setting that was to hard for your setup.

ive found the mem timings to be particularly vicious on turbo mode. one needs very good ram to handle it.

did have a wierd glitch after flashing the 2619 bios though. comp wouldnt boot and i wasnt getting LED error codes and nothing seemed to work, eventually a reset during the brief powerup did the trick. odd.
