ABit BD7II, 3* DDR DRAM Slots?

I have a BD7II, in difference to the BD7 it has an additional DDR DRAM slot (3 in all). I just bought and installed a 3rd stick of 256 PC-2100, and it's not recognized at all (that 3 * 256M in all now). I see nothing on the FAQ at ABit, and the BIOS updates don't mention anything about fixing this. Anyone else had this issue?

On my Asus board, I was told to make sure NOT to use double load memory in the 3rd slot. Maybe that applies to your board.

Where isn't it recognized? During POST? or by the OS, if OS, what OS?

OS is WinXP (Home). The memory is not recognized by either POST nor the OS (unless there's some 512MB limit, so any additional memory in any slot woiuld not show- but that can't be).

Just to clarify: I have 2 sticks at 2*256M (PC2100). POST and XP reports 512(approx)M. Adding a 3rd 256M stick to the 3rd slot (same brand of PC-2100) makes no change in the 512M reported in POST or the OS (SiSoft Sandra).
