AMD aims to boost its share of the notebook-CPU market to 15 percent

With the introduction of its 64-bit enabled Turion 64 processor, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is looking to push its market share in the notebook-CPU segment to 12-15 percent in 2005, compared to the 5-8 percent share it had previously, according to sources at Taiwan PC makers. Read more

50" share in US PDP TV market continues to climb

American consumers desire larger TVs and that was evident in the plasma (PDP) TV category during the first quarter of 2006, according to research firm Quixel Research. According to Quixel, the 50" to 60" unit share of the PDP TV market in the US grew 20% from the previous quarter and represented 30% of the total PDP TV market there in the first quarter of 2006.
