I am trying to check the minutes balance on my two line. On
verizonwireless.com or by dialing #646 my balance is current to only
4/22 and today is 4/29. What gives? Anyone else having this problem?

Houston area...mine is updated very promptly, usually within 10's of
minutes.

Were any of your calls in a complete roam during that time period?

No. I moved x-country to another VZW "home" area a few months ago but
kept my original number. I had been making calls all week. I went to
check my minutes and nothing had been updated for over a week.

Update: I just called VZW and after about 30 minutes of transfers and
hangups the last CS rep told me that they are aware of some problems
with #MIN and #BAL at the present time and are working on them. No ETC
given.

Well, there ya go. I have my account in FL and am currently in Las Vegas,
which is a different market/different accounting system etc. When I walked
into a verizon store out here to try and do the new every two, they can't
even access my account on their computers. At any rate, the last few weeks
(having an east coast acct but being on the west coast) there have been
"delays" transferring info between the two systems (apparently they are
trying to consolidate things under one accounting system, but haven't done
it yet). I've noticed a bit of a delay, sort of like when I am roaming, as
far as info being transferred to online or #min stuff. When I was in Alaska
a while back, it took a while for anything done there to migrate too. Sounds
similar.

My home area is near Houston. Last October, I was in San Diego for a couple
of weeks and it took about a week for calls that I made there to show up. I
was on the Verizon network there, but it seemed to make a difference when
updating minutes used.

I moved from DC to NV, so we're in the same new area. Can you please
view your balance and let me know if you're a week behind, too?

Just tried it, and my #min didn't work, but the #bal does, and showed some
balance of minutes less than I think I should have. Will check the website
after 9 PM (when the free time starts) to see what's on there.

That's funny about the DC area, while I have a FL account (my parents live
there), I have a Baltimore phone number (my sister and friends live there),
and part of my coming to Vegas was making a joke about losing money on my
own, rather than have the congresscritters in DC waste it for me. :)

In east tn is now about 2 days behind; up till about 2-3 weeks ago was
updated every few hours==also has given erronious readings on one
account from time to time which caused me to make a plan change, which
was not needed. when I told the c/s people about the bad readings, no
comments, it they were aware or not.

As of Saturday morning, and several times this week, it is working in
Chicago.

Of note: it still works the same way here that it always has (updated as of
the last call I made the previous day) and has not been upgraded as some
people have noted to be accurate to within a few minutes.

Just talked to the CS person at Verizon (*611), she said hers was accurate,
but out of areas aren't updated yet for online or voice call checking. If
you need to know for sure, call them (its a free call), apparently the #bal
and getting a text message will not be up to date either.

Ps the problem now appears to be people that have contracts in different
areas than they make calls (I'm in vegas on vacation and my contract is in
Baltimore), apparently it is a problem transferring info between centers.

I had called *611 and they had the same incorrect minutes on their
record that I had a week ago. My minutes were updated today from 10 days
behind up to a level of about 3 days ago, so I'm happy with that. I just
wanted an approximation because of some long calls earlier this week.
Again, I'm in Reno with a contract in D.C. Maybe they're just going to
update our records once a week, and even then, leave it a few days
behind.

Actually, what she told me was that while it was totally inacurate before,
it was now up to date, but only for the cs people. As you may remember, I'm
in Vegas with a contract in Baltimore, and when she checked, she showed the
call I made 30 minutes earlier to my sister, yet the website and #bal didn't
show that call. Like you, I'm not really worried about it anyway, and being
in the PST time zone (3 hours earlier than back east, 9:01 PM time here is
after midnight back home) I tend to only call back home on weekends when the
time warp doesn't affect us as much, and that happens to be free call time
anyway. As a matter of fact, my prime time was 1 minute, non prime 473
minutes!

Don't you just hate that "time warp?" I too am in the Pacific Time Zone (Las
Vegas) and consider "free" nights to be a feature of no benefit to me. Like
you, most of my calls are made on the weekend, and even on a family share
plan I've never gone over my plan's prime time minutes. Not once in over two
years!

I just signed up for a plan with my local landline provider which will give
me unlimited long distance (USA) 24/7 for only $5 more than I presently pay
them. I suspect I'll be dropping my cell phone service when I see how little
it is actually used.
