i need to know what happens or how to tell if its too hot?

i have it in a big enough space on my tv set so i thin it should be alright but i have been noticing that it is pretty hot when i touch it and i am a little worried it will start malfuntioning if it gets too hot......

it hasnt froze or anything so i think its fine but just to make sure i want to ask some people.....it has more than enough inches in all directions to get air in the slot its in......

and what is too loud on the xbox 360 because it is already loud?

does overheating result in 360 being loud?
