I red the <A HREF="http://www.tomshardware.com/column/01q4/011029/index.html" target="_new">Cooling Off: THG visits AMD</A> article on this site, and I´d like to know how do I find out if a mobo come with this protection or not, does the Epox 8k7a+ come with it?
There are actually two types of thermal protection.
the fast responding critical one that should save you should your entire HSF come off (or be pulled off) can be found in the asus a7v333 or the soltek drv-75something lol
chances of you HSF commming off however are indecently remote, provided you use a properly designed heatsink.
whats much more common is the Bios shutdown option, which responds slower to temp spikes. most motherboards have this, and its sufficient in the advent of the heatsink fan falling off or stopping.
about the bios shutdown optios..is there any way it blow my PSU? check my post <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=652117#652117" target="_new"> here</A> about it if you can.
thanks.
