Refering to post 4/1/2004 *having to close down * . After reading and experiencing errors on page I downloaded Macromedia Flashplayer 10 oddly not refered to on Macromedia website , I looked through Google search . Before then I found 2 CTFMON.EXE 's listed in Startup Program Group both on the same date 1/4/2004 , coincidentally the same date the post * having to close down * is dated ? A search of files reveals 1 CTFMON.EXE . What should I do with the second CTFMON.EXE in the Startup Program Group? I am thinking to delete it .Thanks and thanks for posts out there . Nicholas

I think when I visited a Japanese website I did not accept a request for an input of language , I think it was Chinese , that I would supposedly be able to read the information I wanted to see properly , but I did not accept the offer . I may have visited another website and accepted the installation of another Language , I have not recalled .I do not think I have done any other thing with the Languages section of the Windows program , so I am left wondering why have I 2 CTFMON.EXE's listed in the startup program group .

Both are dated the same date , 1/04/2003 , 5 months before I owned the computer , but it does seem to me I should have only one entry for CTFMON.EXE , if any . The article kbid 282599 is an explaination of the file , but does not mention Windows XP Home Edition as one of the Operating Systems the article refers to , and I still have 2 CTFMON.EXE's listed in the Startup Program Group .Can someone help me with this ? I have only owned my first computerfor 8 months . Thanks , Nicholas

ANSWER a computer with Windows XP Home Edition uses at least2 CTFMON.exe's
, and I have found 4 files with ctfmon.exe at some stage in my lookings ,
