GA-7VRXP IDE Config

I have a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP board two hardrives, plextor 12/10/32 burner, a DVD rom, and an Atapi Zip Drive. Is there a way to configure these components in a manner that allows me to use the extra IDE ports without setting up the raid or do I need to employ PCI IDE card to include my zip drive. I've tried several configurations and often I am left with one of the components not recognized.

disable the RAID controller, and I believe you have to make sure not to put the optical stuff on IDE3 and 4
