Returning Gigabyte GA7VRXP

I RMA'd my Gigabyte GA7VRXP and the place I bought it from is offering me to waive the restocking fee and not purchase anything from them if I choose. I was having similar problems to the many posts on this and other boards with that motherboard and am looking for something that is stable.

They do sell the ABIT KX7-333 non raid and I was wondering if this is a good choice. If there is something better I'll just take their offer of the full return and purchase a board elsewhere.

At this point I'm not concerned about cost, I just want the best board I can buy for my XP1900+ chip. I already have a stick of 512MB corsair PC2700 DDR and Geforce4 TI 4400 vid card.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

with all the trouble this board's been havin with the geforce 4's, i'd jump to another motherboard.

Asus A7V333, not a bad choice either: mine works fine (XP 2000+, Samsung PC2700). It has CPU thermal protection, and almost everything the VRXP had (I RMA'd that board last week myself), except the LAN. Seems the sound chip is better also. Ran stable 140/35 CPU/PCI, 4:5 CPU/MEM. Watch temps. Good luck !

i'm not saying that mobo is bad, i'm using it right now with a 1900+, just that i hear a lot of people are having trouble with it. Especially with the GF4 graphic cards. Guess i'll just have to stick with my good ol GF3.
