Hi there,
im a newbie and here is my question:

ABIT KX7-333R integrates VIA KT333 chipset. the chipset already integrates the 6 channel audio, the modem, and the network controller. but the tech specs of the mobo still said there are no onboard sound and no onboard LAN. Why? or ABIT simply disabled the audio and network function of the chipset?

im a newbie and humble is my attitude.

The VIA chipset houses many feature, but each motherboard maker can
opt to use/not use them. In the case of the KX7-333/R motherboard, Abit
decided to not use these features. The board is designed for those who
prefer a bare board (like me). I already have a good NIC, Sound Card,
Cable Modem, etc... and simply want a stable, low price, quailty board.

IMO, the Abit KX7-333R has only two issues. 1) It does not use the AMD
XP thermal sensor (like the Asus board). 2) It does not support the
Tbred processor. You will need to RMA the board back to ABIT to have it
modified to support the Tbred(you pay shipping).

Hope this helps.

Abit KX7-333R, Abit Siluro Ti4400, XP1800+, 512MB Crucial DDR2100, WD 120 GB HD, Santa Cruz.

Thanks a lot. as you said, the Abit KX7-333R does not use the AMD XP thermal sensor, then what sensor does it use? I guess we can still know the temperature of CPU by other means?
