I was just reading Tom's Newsletter and it noted that serial ATA was the next generation and would be faster then the ATA 133 -150 MBps. I would think that the cable would be faster but I have no idea, that is why I am asking.

Could someone explain how this works and why it is faster then the 40 pin cable and what speed is that at?

The Serial ATA cable has a much faster clock rate.
