Windows keyboard not recognized

My standard Windows Natural keyboard is not being recongized on a new PC
with a new install of WinXP Pro. The serial connector is fine, and it works
ok with the old PC (otherwise I wouldn't be typing this), but the new box
and XP don't see it. It worked for a while but now it doesn't.

Any tricks up your sleeves to get these two to work and play well together?

I can't find any serial port keyboards on the Hardware Compatibility List
for XP (ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/services/whql/hcl/winxphclx86.txt)

May be time to switch to a PS/2 or USB keyboard.

Actually a serial keyboard would be a rarity. I've never seen one.
Before the PS/2 port, the keyboards used a DIN connector on the rear
side of the motherboard. I've never heard of a "Windows Natural
keyboard" but I have heard of a "Microsoft Natural" keyboard family
which use the Intellitype software
(http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/Download.mspx).

Me neither, Vanguard. Thanks for the added input on this thread. Appreciate
it.
