I don't know much about cross os compatibility, so I just want to ask how well games will carry over into win7. Will some older games require special compatibility settings? (old as in baldur's gate, fallout 1 era) Will it require any hardware changes?
Almost everything that works on Vista will work on Windows 7, so if you do a search for vista compatibility with those games you should find what you need.

Well so far I haven't had one game not work. Mainly Source based games. I have yet to try any of my older ones (Half Life/C$C).
But thus far it works with quite a bit except since they reworked the kernal some programs that worked for Vista don't work since they don't see it as "Vista". Might try the compatability mode for that......
