My Abit BE6-II Motherboard has a yes/no possibility for ACPI.
ACPI Yes? No?
Why do I want to enable/disable it?

It uses IRQ slot 9 which goes to my sound card too. Is that an issue? Yes? No? Why?

This is on a system that runs on Win98 full version (not SE) and XP Home Upgrade. The only power choices we make on the WIN98 are monitor:
Screensaver after 15 minutes
Monitor off after 5 hours.

Hard Drive: Off after 5 hours

Wake on mouse only.

Thank you in advance.

Every working computer must be improved .... or replaced ...

The ACPI features are for advanced power profiles. If you only need the simple power profiles from Windows 98, that you described in your post, I recommend you disable the ACPI features. Many people have problems with ACPI conflicting with other hardware, and it also requires some system resources, so if you don´t need it, just shut it down.
