I use my phone only for calling. I want to get whatever current
Verizon phone has the best reception in buildings, fringe areas, etc.
I'm not interested in any other features. I don't care if the phone is
a flip or candy bar style.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The nokia 3589i is getting great reviews as far as reception.

Nokia 3589i. I bought one this week. In my office 75 feet from
nearest window on ground floor, I get 1-2 bars digital and better than
90% of incoming calls ring thru with this phone. Old Startac 7868
which replaced in same setting, sometimes weak digital signal,
sometimes analog, sometimes no service, and calls seldom rang thru.
Tried LG/LX 4400B which was worse signal and returned to VZW store
after one day. The Nokia 3589i has both an internal AND an external
antenna, not something you find in cell phones often. Other places
where had weak reception with Startac, this phone outperforms
receptionwise.

Kyocera 2325 (Black and white screen, basic no-frills phone, but inexpensive
and functional.)

I love my Motorola v.60s. I am not sure if they are still selling it,
but I have not run into an area yet where I didn't have a signal (digital or
analog). It's basically the v.60p without the push-to-talk feature. Solid
performing phone and it even has a speakerphone on it that works VERY well.
I have been very happy with it. Don't think that I will be upgrading to any
thing anytime soon even when my contract is up in about 7 months.
