The only games I typically play are BF2, BF2142, and Quake4. Some time ago I built a new system with expectations that it would easily play all of these games on high settings with the following specs.

X2 4400
7900gt 256 eVGA
2 G's Geil @ 2-2-2-3
WDC 16mg cache 250
X-Fi Extreme Music
MSI Diamond nForce4 2x16

I run everything on a 19" LG LCD @ 1280x1024 4ms (I personally like LCD's even without the ability to go with extreme resolutions, etc.)

Also not to open another thread but anything less than 60 FPS in a FPS is noticable to me, which brings me to.. with all settings maxed in BF2142@only 1280x1024 I don't avg 60 prob avg around 45-50, I turn off a few things (reduce AA, AF, for example) and I'm stable in large multiplayer firefights at avg 60. Does this seem low for this GF card to anyone. You read tons of people saying max settings perfectly smooth, is smooth to them less than 60?

Most people will say it's not worth getting a 8800 with a slower processor or at such a low res, however if I want everything maxed and steady 60 would that help? Next year I plan on building a C2D system so please don't offer that up as a suggestion just yet.

Thanks!

Cool. Just remember to be inventive about it. None of the usual stuff like hanging or overdosing.

Like the guy from here in Britain who built a contraption using a power saw. He rigged it to go off while he was asleep and chop his head off and then to cut through the power chord so he didn't wake his father up. No that required thought and gains many many marks for innovation in the field of suicide.

Brits are clever.

No, I'm going with a Rube Goldberg-like device that will throw nood womenz at me until I die from smothering. I think that's the way to go.

Well that beats death by circular saw hands down any day.

If I lived in Britain and had to listen to news about Heather Mills and Macca or Spice Girls or the royal family I might go crazy and kill myself too

You're already hearing news about them if you're aware of them. What's your point there eh

Reply to Wolfy

At least he does not have to listen to news about them every day like I do…

Hence why my new 32” HDTV is connected to my 360 and PC only, none of this BBC malarkey for me now. Just think what it would be like for you Americans if you only had the BBC channel. That’s what us Brits have to put up with and to top that off we have the pay for the ‘place a string of very vulgar words here’ BBC channels or we go to jail or pay a very big fine :x

God your right, to be British is to be the heart of what is misery in this world.

Anyone know where I can buy this DIY suicide booth

How about "celebrity" Big Brother this year eh? How about that for errrr..... quality tv. I've watched in total 15 minutes of it and it made me dispair for the human race.

Personally I find it very hard to watch the UK news stations or at the very least the ones I have access to are the 24hr ones and my god my brain hurts when I watch them sky in particular but the BBC is just as bad. I can just about bear Euro news. I miss RTE news from Ireland. On that show they just reported the news and didn't lengthen a 2 minute piece on the queen sneezing into a 30 minute special complete with experts on the royal along with doctors giving their opinion etc etc.

However, at least we don't have to watch Fox News :P
