Hey I have a P-III 450 Thats been working just fine for a while under winXP and shutting off properly. I just had a crash and reinstalled everything.

Now when I shut down... the computer doesn't turn off, it just reboots even if you "shut-down". Then when you get back to windows it tells you "you've come back from a critical error Send Report?"

Any suggestions please. Settings on MB?

Thanks

Macabi

It may be related to the WinXPs new reinstallation requirements, post in the WinXP operating section and see if any others have run across the same thing.

You never know what you can do until you try.

Well I havn't re-registered it since I want to sell the computer. Its just crappy that it doesn't turn off... Wouldn't that be a hardware problem and not a software problem?

If the machine didn't turn ON, then it would be a hardware problem. :) Windows takes care of the shutdown/restart procedures and since you've only been doing software stuff after this crash it'll be a windows eXPeriance.
