Does anyone know if the soyo dragon plus with bios version 2ba3 will accept the xp 2200+ cpu? On the soyo website under this bios version it says supports up to 2100+ but on the products page for D+, it says supports up to 2200+. Just would like to know before I go and spend the money on it to find out it's not going to work. TIA. Eddie

I have the same mobo and have my cpu overcloked to 2200+. With the same version. I dont know if that helps much, but I still think for some reason that it will accept the 2200+ cpu.

What cpu are you using? I would think that since it is recognizing it oc'd as a 2200+ that it would be supported. But, it is new .13. That is what concerns me. But I do thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately Tim, I've already tried that route with at least 5 emails that I can remember over the past 2 weeks. I haven't tried calling them though. Maybe that's what I should do. Anyway, I appreciate you man.

Ok man... I checked out most of my sources and everything points in the general directions that the 2200+ will work in that board. You have the newest bios available, also i found that overclockers.com used the 2200+ in one of there test.... one last question do you have the 333 or 266 chipset?

Yes, it will support the 2200+, although you are much better saving $60 or so getting a 2100+ and overclocking it to 2200+ levels.

I just received an emai from soyo tech support and they say that I have to send the mb in for 'changes' for it to be able to support the xp 2200+. I've sent them an email asking what changes have to be made. We'll see if I get a reply. Here is the email they sent.:
Eddie,

You would need to send the M/B for changes to support the Athlon XP 2200+ CPU.

If you want to do so, you need to request an RMA.

Thank You! Have a Nice Day!

Something makes me think otherwise. I tried testing a "2200+" AXP by oc'ing my 1800+. It worked perfectly fine. That leads me to believe that a 2100+ and 2200+ will work in it.

Now that's Soyo bullshit. It's as bad as the transition from the Thunderbird to the Athlon XP Palomino. Now the Palomino to the Thoroughbred...Just wait till Barton comes along.
