I am having trouble with two games on my computer: Motocross Madness 2 and Unreal Tournament. Whenever I try to launch either game, Windows XP brings up an error dialog box. Neither game gets a chance to check for the cd (both games require a cd to launch and always check for the cd). The dialog box says: MCM2.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. ( for motocross madness 2)
and
UnrealTournament.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. (for unreal tournament)

Try disabling visual themes:
I think its find the games .exe file, right click, properties, find some "disable visual themes" tab or something...

Hmm - interesting fix I would never have thought of. Any idea why that would work?
