Oblivion settings

how slow. i would say it is a bit odd. have you defragged your hard drive.

also what are your temps. it is very hard to remove all stutters in oblivion due to the way the game is.

the problem is that due to what some would say are game engine flaws, oblivion loads up alot of stuff it doesn't need and other stuff it just magically appears. this means it need to load alot of different textures and basically the whole world you see into the ram and then to the gfx card. the thing is since it needs to do this often the harddrive is accessed alot and if your hard drive is fragmented it will take longer to get the info.

I think I found the problem, in the Nvidia settings I had everything maxed out, AA and everything. Then in Oblivion I also set all the video options to high. Once I changed the options in the Nvidia control panel to "application controled" things got a ton better without any video quality that I could tell.

Still running at 1280x760 or whatever that widescreen resolution is. I have a 32" LCD TV I am using as my gaming monitor. The size is awsome however the trade off being the lower resolution. I find that with in game settings all maxed including AA the picture looks great, however I can only imagine how it would look on a Dell 30" with super high res. I just checked my BF2 FPS at they are right around 90FPS with all the settings on high, the key for me was not to mess with the Nvidia control panel and leave all the video options to the in game menus.
