Go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:jview If details show, java virtual machine is
installed,if not you dont have it.If the later,go to msn.com,search,type:
Microsoft Java Virtual Machine Youll need to download it from a 3rd party
from the search results, then get the updated version from microsoft web,or
windows update,update catalog,windows server 2003,std.edition has it i
believe,or try web edition,critical updates.

Greetings --

As the result of a lawsuit by Sun Microsystems, and the ensuing
settlement, Microsoft was not allowed to provide its own Java Virtual
Machine to Windows XP users. You can get almost the same
functionality by downloading Sun's version of Java from
http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html. If you want the wider website
compatibility of Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine, it is still
available from a lot of 3rd-party web sites, some of which are listed
here: http://www.java-virtual-machine.net/download.html.

If you do choose the Microsoft JVM, be sure to visit Windows
Update to apply a needed security patch.

Bruce, the link that you provide for the MS Java works, but the link at that
site to download it is invalid, and has been for some time.

This one still works great though:
