[SOLVED] Mac OSX will not open jpgs from email

I am unable to open jpgs that are loaded down from email attachment on my MAC OSX 10.6.2

I get a message "..file could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognise"

In the past I have been able to do so but after a couple of upgrades this is now not possible.

I don't have a fix for you, but a workaround may be to save the attachment to your desktop and open it in Preview that way.

Thanks for suggestion but it IS when I try to open the new jpg from the desktop with Preview that I get the message. I do not know of another way to open it.
All my preexisting jpg open without a hitch. It is only those that I place on the desktop from an email attachment that refuse to open...

Hmmm, weird. Preview may have an issue.

Have you Repaired Permissions? Open Disk Utility, highlight your hard drive, then choose Repair Permissions.

Problem solved - and the fault was all mine - I was taking the jpg and placing it on the desktop rather than going through Preview to Save As..... Many thanks for your suggestions...
