I highly doubt it....just because it would take a major revamp of the Source engine to move it from DX9 to DX10 (and then make it backwards compatible). For a sell price of only $20 or $30 (i can't remember what this one will sell for) it wouldn't be worth it.
I suspect we won't see DX10 until Half-Life 3 when they build a new engine.
It’s not too hard, all they need to do is bolt on some DX10 extensions and it’s all good for it being DirectX10 compatible. But there really is no point in doing this since DX10 does not offer much more in the way of visual features over DX9 it just does them all faster and has the ability to do a lot more.
One thing Valve mentions as a huge bonus for episodic content is that they can implement new features as they become available. It's possible Episode 2 will have DX10 features, though I wouldn't count on it, and it wouldn't require DX10 even if it did support it. I would however be surprised if Episode 3 didn't support it.
How do you figure there are no graphical enhancements to DX10 games over DX9 games.
There major visual enhancement abilities with DX10 over DX9.
If you were correct with that statement then they would not compare crysis screens with DX10 and DX9. They would look exactly the same but one would perform better.
Also look at the visual enhancements between SM 2.0 and 3.0.
