I want to know which highest processor a TX Pro (sis 5598) motherboard can support? I have currently Cyrix MII on it but it's too sloooow. Whether this system can be upgraded?
Thanks for your time.

What the mobo manual says?
I guess it supports 100 MHz.
If it is so, there's a great chance to put the fastest K6-III+ (it runs @450 or 500 MHz), which in most cases is faster than K6-2+ 550MHz (or 600 MHz). It will depend on if your mobo supplies a lower voltage. Despite they sell some voltage converters, if you need them, they are not cheap - so it might be cheaper if you get a cheap Elitegroup with KT-133A chipset and Duron 850MHz - this will cost you about $75 and it will run a hell faster.
It is important your SDRAMs are at least 100MHz. Poor boy, if you use EDO RAM - then the fastes CPU would be K6-2 333MHz.

Current Cyrix MII is 300MHz.
Yes, the motherboard supports 100 MHz.
SDRAM is also 100 MHz.

I learned from THG that these kind of systems can be upgraded to AMD K6 2+, but they say that these processors are not very common in the market. Can I find these processors easily?

I don't know.
Here, in Bulgaria, the fastest similar CPU is K6-2 450 MHz. It costs $29, (Duron 800MHz=$28).
I haven't seen K6-2@550 and K6-3@500 for the last year at PC shops.

K6-2 are not all that hard to find. There are plenty to be found on http://www.pricewatch.com just do a search for "k6". They're priced around $20. woot!

The TX Pro sucked. You could overclock an AMD K6-2 550 to 600 on it, but it would still blow, er, suck.
