SUP,I've had the game for a month now and no matter when i play the game, it has to crash for no reason but some times the whole comp shuts down in the middle of the game and tells me "serious error has occurred" but doesn't tell me what. i went to tweak guides and got a patch for XP that is suppose to fix the problem but with no luck. all of my drivers are the latest versions, anyone have a clue to why BF 2142 is crashing?

Thanx l8er :)

a) Make sure the game is retail, legit. i bought it from Best Buy

b) Download all updates for the game. And latest drivers for all of your computer hardware. the game version is 1.10, the latest one

c) Go and increase the memory voltage by 0.1, and see what happens. i took it up to 1.95v, i dont think my ram can handle 2.0v

d) Ease up on the video card overclock just a bit. i reduced the speeds back to stock

I think the problem is my graphic card it overheating but i dont know for shure, thanks for the in put. BTW i was playing camp gibraltar and i was 3rd on the server anbout an hour into the game and BANG!! yah...i'm going to keep looking on the net, apparently i'm not the only one that is having this problem

l8er :)

BF2 was pretty sensitive when it came to CPU overclocks if I remember correctly. If pulling back on the videocard doesn't help, bring your CPU back to stock speed. OC'ing your CPU to play BF2142 is just overkill...

Dude,

Make sure u re-install the game

once its re-installed,

turn OFF the game - install the 1st update.

RUN the game - then turn it OFF

Install the 2nd update

then run the game again, config ur video settings!!

then launch into a server -- and MAKE SURE U IT Optimized YOUR GRAPHICS SETTINGS..

hopefully this should work-

Sorry for the long post

A good way to test out if your system is stable is by running a program called prime95 on your system for 30 minutes using the torture test. If you get a stop error it means that your system has got something wrong E.g. a peace of hardware is faulty or your system (overclock/bios) settings are a not correct/shaky.

I had this problem till I changed the timings that my CPU talks to the memory from T1 to T2 and since then my system has been stable as a rock.

I agree,

Using prime95 does help.

Although T1 memory timmings are so much quicker, i would use T2 depending how many ram sticks you have.

Cheers
