Blade 2 and Lord of the Rings are the best ones I've seen in YEARS THEY KICK ASS
Bah, resident evil was better.
"The Cash Left In My Pocket,The BEST Benchmark"
If "resident evil" was anything close to the genre of "the exorcist", please do not promote it. Some younsters never recovered from the later. I was lucky.
If a movie depics evil too vividly it has no positive effect.
Come katie let's watch "ghost story" one more time.

I haven’t seen Blade yet but Resident Evil was a huge let down for me. I never saw a more predictable movie. If there going to make video games into movies they need to do Half life. Now that would rock!

Blade 2 was a good movie. I like the first one better. Resident Evil sucked big time. If you played the game you'll hate the movie. If you havent played the game you'll like the movie.
If it boots then it works, simple enough ?
I went threw that game in lest than 30 minutes, using "no clip".
ps: don't forget that lingerie section, that will be teh best!

I saw it last night, the only problem I had with it was the overuse of CGI. The vampires mouths looked like the beasts from Aliens at times. I dont know why they felt the need to incorporate Matrix style fight scenes, the martial arts in the first film worked quite well. I even think it was better than the Matrix. I'm tired of seeing people running and jumping off walls. Leave the camara trickery for the rookies who dont know martial arts.
Well, I dont want to salt the movie too much because I enjoyed it immensely. It was well worth the $25 I blew on the gal I took to see it.
Resident evil was a letdown. The movie was so glamour and glitzy. It barely felt like horror at times. Plus, what the hell is Milla Jojo(whatever) doing jumping off walls and kicking zombies. Come on! I know when I watch movies you through out reality, but I couldn't help but laugh in the hand to hand combat scenes. If your going to let people do extrordinary things then at least set it up and make give me a reason why they can kick ass like that.
I guess if I hadn't played the game I would have enjoyed the movie. This film shouldn't have even been named Resident Evil. It carries none of the games ambiance, I remember getting scared a bit playing the first RE game. The movie just followed the typical boring horror movie layout. Suuuuuuccchhhh a dissapointment.
Ohh, now I know why you like the movie so much, cause it has Milla JoJo(whatever) in it.

i agree. i've only seen clips/trailers of blade II, but what i have seen i think i'll be in for a disappointment. the fight sequences in blade I i really liked. actually i didn't care for the fight sequences in the matrix. maybe because i do martial arts, it looked too staged and the fighting had too much of that "film range" fighting (you can plainly see they would not hit eachother even if the other didn't "block). funny thing is though, everyone talks about matrix as some pioneer movie in fighting sequences, but that's hardly true. yes there were some things. but look back in older kung fu movies, jet li movies. you'll see most of the same effects and styles used. and these movies were out 5 years or so before the matrix.

Jackie Chan movies all the way! even when I don't understand his humour. Man I can't remember which movie it was, But this scene impressed me so much, I tried it out my self (It was long ago, I was young and stupid). Its a simple thing. He just jumps right into a car through the side window amidst all the fighting, without even touching the frame. It looks really simple, but you try it.
His fighting is just phenomenal. Bruce Lee was a brilliant fighter, but I think Jackie chan is waaaaaaay more entertaining. And those people who like to get into Bruce Lee versus Jackie Chan fighting arguments, I'd like to say, If Jackie can defend himself for the first few minutes, he can whoop Bruces ass like there is no tomorrow.

not from a movie standpoint, but strictly martial arts. jackie chan wouldn't last the first few mins. jackie chan used to train hard. but with the movies and everything, he's turned into more of a stunt choreographer more than a martial artist. yes i will agree, jackie's movies are a lot more fun, but it's supposed to be. i don't think the movies would get the turn out they do, if they depicted what really happens to a person's limbs, face, body when some of that stuff is done. don't get me wrong, what jackie chan does takes a lot of effort, skill and work. but going purely on martial arts skill, i don't think he'd hold up. oh i know which movie you're talking about, it's with that redhead right? ah, Mr. ..... lemme think.

Yeah, I agree when I saw the Matrix I laughed at the actual Martial Arts moves. I actually laughed out loud in the theater when Keaunu Reeves was doing some of his poses. I'm still baffled when people tell me that Reeves and Fishburn looked better cooler in the Matrix than the fight scenes from Crouching Tiger.
Jackie Chan and Jet Li are still great Martial Artists. They are not great fighters, but they have never claimed to be. Kung Fu in China is taught in theaters, it's alot like a dance now.
What do you train in?
Don´t believe in it!
Bruce Lee was a master! He even developed his own fighting style!
I just love to watch "Enter the Dragon" when Bruce is fighting the bearded guy! (I have a DVD copy of the movie, great picture quality!) Even in the slowest setting one can hardly see him hit the guy! Much less seeing his hand moving! It´s soooo Cool!

Have you seen the movie about Bruce´s life?
Do you really think that a normal person could recover
from being paraplegic in so little time and return to being what he was before!
Do you really think that Martial Arts are only a question of being faster than the oponent or being able to block some of the opponent´s attacks?
If you look at it carefully you can also see that Bruce Lee doesn´t make any unnecessary movement!

Besides, You can actually learn something from Bruce Lee´s films!
The fights are all so perfectly depicted that you can learn some moves!

It was a good flick, and I would have no qualms taking my daughter to see it around 10, desensitation is not as bad as everyone thinks.

Of course its predictable, its not trying to be hamlet you know.
However, they made one large mistake, the villan was revealed in the first 5 minutes, by an accidental face shot, so the supposed whatif never came off for me cause I knew the truth.
PS: re was probably the best vg movie yet.
at least it wasnt mario brothers

They explained it, and nothing she did was matrixesq, it was all quite realistic, she didnt like dodge bullets or anything.

I agree that it did not follow the movie much, sortof but not really, gthey mashed 1 and 2 together and had none of the characters. I went to see the movie with the fact in my mind it would not be a direct game translation, but I was plesantly surprised.
PLUS, the music, although a tad loud at points [-peep-] rocked.

yep, i think the fighting in crouching tiger shows it a lot better (more realistic imo, the actual fighting that is). weird thing is both movies were done by the same fight choreographer, Yuen Wo-Ping. jet li what i remember he still does train in the arts, as well as for the movies. a lot of the different arts have one form of dance or another. the school i train at is a JKD center under guru dan inosanto-who trained with sifu bruce lee. 2 of the instructors at the school were taught by inosanto. at our particular school we do a few different arts: wing chun gungfu, jun fan gungfu, silat, kali, muay thai, savate, shooto, brazilian jujitsu , panantukan and capoeira. it's really fun, i'm big into the silat, wing chun and kali.

Flying across buildings and running up walls is not realistic IMO.

those parts were not what i was referring to. i'm talking about the actual hand to hand technique, when they are in punching/kicking range. to me when they are flying around isn't part of the actual fight sequence.

Hey man! don't send me to the slaughter house. I was just saying I found bruce lee fighting scenes kinda boring and short, and most of the time it felt like the bad guys queued up in a nice even line waiting for their turn. Even the old grannies queueing up to collect their pensions are more chaotic than that.
Jackie chan is always fighting a bunch of guys with weapons all together, and just about escaping with his skin, and he fights back with objects you always find lying about. Now thats entertaining. Not - "I remember what you said when I was two years old. It offends me dearly. Now you will die..."
OK, I may have made that up right here. I know... Bruce lee was in amazing state of body and mind and stuff like that. I'm just saying jackie chan seems to go on fighting longer. But, even he said in real life there is no way a fight will go on like that. Though we are talking about them on the screen right?
[lets see if this gets me out of the mess without anyone noticing]

A man is only as old as the woman he feels
Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting.........Man, those guys are fast as lightning.......
So:
Jackie Chan /= Bruce Lee
Bruce Lee /= Jackie Chan
The Way of the Intercepting Fist == Be Like Water
Mila Jovovich == Babe
Mila Jovovich == Nice Muff
Britney Spears == Boob Job
Did I miss anything?
I also enjoy Jackie Chan´s movies but the fights in his aren´t there to look real, just to entertain people!
Jackie Chan started his career as a stunt man for Bruce´s movies! He tryed to continue in the same line as Bruce´s films but had to change for the style he has now!
And remember that the success Martial Arts schools and movies currently have is mostly due to Bruce Lee´s effort!
Rest in Peace Sensei, wherever you are!

10 light years later:Well, I know what you mean by "desensitize", but I'm wondering,
especially for children, is it not a waste of time?
I think it's with yousters that a problem exists, adults should have enough judment.
One of my kids watched "chuky", you know the damn doll with the evil smile, anyway it was at her friends older brothers birthday party and we were not aware they were going to show this movie. Well damn them, because my girl was 5 at the time and it took 2 years before she would go up to her room alone or to the basement. Yes had we known,we could have "desensitized" her to what she was going to see. Being beside her at the time would have been even better. Not seing it would have been the best!
I'm just questionning the real impact movies like the exorcist, chuky, freddy and so many others can have on a young public.
Desensitizing a child so he may be better prepared for the horrers of war is probably essential, but to go to all that trouble in order for him/her to "endure" a horror movie, seems a waste of time. If chuky were real that would be a different story. He isn't real, right?

Personally I agree, Jackie Chan's stunts and fight scenes look superior to Bruce Lee's films. But Bruce was the pioneer, had he survived who knows how much more he could have improved. Also Bruce Lee was a true fighter who also acted. When you take a look at one of his films again, try not to compare. Pay attention to Lee's physical ability, the guy had superhuman agility and speed. Plus his strength was just amazing if you looked at his size. Till this day there have been those who have tried to train the way Lee did or match some of his feats, nobody has been able too.
True, True.
