Hi

i have a friend who is running WIN98 and they are having problems with their IE. When they go on the internet everything is blurry and unclear.

They say it looks as there are pixels missing but when they use word or excel etc they have no problem just when using IE.

I suggested reinstalling Windows but still same problem. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong

thanks

I use win98se. Never heard of or seen this myself. A couple of wild guesses:

1) Are they on a dial-up connection using some sort of download accelerator? My vague understanding of those is that they reduce image quality to speed up the d/l. Try without the accelerator to see if improves.

2)How about a crappy dial-up connection causing this? Try another see if the problem goes away.

3) Try another modem.

Good Luck with it.

Sounds like the prob is in the phone line downstairs. Bad insulation, too near a power line maybe. If they move it upstairs and it's good again, you'll know it's not the pc.
