install game on separate HD instead of main boot HD?

Should I install PC games on separate empty HD instead of the main boot drive? My main boot drive contains window XP , office and other business files.

would the game run more efficiently if it is installed on different HD?

It depends only on drive itself. If it is 10,000 rpm drive then sure, it will be better.

The answer is yes.

I do exactly this and it is definitely quicker; im surprised more people dont ask this question (unless they already know lol) It decreases load times for everything; and things like Pinnacle DV editing software run and save/compress data around 30-40% quicker.

It is simply because the drive has nothing to do except execute data instructions.
