Okay well lemme just say I know virtually nothing about computers. So, I came here to ask what all I will need to update to get a computer that will be able to play newer games, and keep me from updating for a few years.

First step is to tell us what you have now - since we know nothing about your current configuration, your budget, or what it is you wish to play, it will be very hard to provide much input that has utility.
