Epox 4g4a+, Great overclocking, feature rich and very affordable.

SOYO with VIA P4X333 (remember: VIA do not have licence to make Pentium 4B chipsets! But I think this is the best choice...) or a careful choice: Asus P4B533-V Intel i845G (not sure it supports DDR333)

im pretty sure 845g supports only up to 266.........hmmmm.........so p4x400 wouldnt be a good bet? I'd like a board that will have some upgradeability in the future

The i845g chipset does support DDR333 albeit unofficially. The SiS645DX supports DDR400 unofficially. The SiS648 has all the features P4X400 but SiS has a license with Intel.

what is the SIS650 chipset? is it supposed to be better than the 645DX and 648? Does the 648 have the serial ATA and 8x AGP already? is it out yet?

The SiS650 is the integrated video version of the SiS645 I believe. The 648 is their newest chipset for the P4. I'm not sure about S-ATA, but it has AGP8X for sure. ABIT has a mobo out, but I don't know if it has shipped yet, although there are a few people with them. Newegg.com still has them on ETA.

 Finally, I get a capitalized title!! WOOT!!

Well it will be a couple more weeks before I buy.............I had a rather nasty incident with my athlon 1700+ and the asus a7s333.........3 cache's later and about a month and a half wait....dreading the fact that malabs.com is telling me there is no serial on the board so they cant replace it...........and a month after I sent them the chip they just sent it to AMD.............so now I'm gonna buy a p4, yet I don't know if I want to take the chance of another Asus board.................guess I'll make up my mind by my next check

I'm interested in a board that supports 333, maybe even 400........and has usb 2.0.........

Again the epox 4g4a+, it does support ddr 333, it has usb 2.0, raid, onboard graphics, 6-channel audio (not that you would use either) and tremendous overclocking potential in the bios. I'm running a 1.8a @ 2.4 and ddr 2700 on it as I type this, very stable, and very affordable ($139).

Abit has a new motherboard out called the IT7 Max 2. They took off all the Legacy Paralell, Serial, PS2 ports. All USB, Firewire, and NIC. Has Serial ATA, ATA 133 IDE and Raid ATA 133.

ACtually the IT7 MAX2 has PS/2 ports.... Kinda weird cause I always thought the MAX series was for legacy-free...

Any top-tier mobo makers with the i845E chipset. Sis 648 is not bad either, but for reliability reasons, I'd stick with the 845E. Go with the 845G if you don't need powerful graphics rendering, but load up on RAM.
