right then, I'm planning on buying a PS3 in Hong Kong for use in the UK. now obviously HK is like japan and US in that it's NTSC, UK is PAL. will a PS3 bought in HK play PAL games? or does it even matter with HD? onto the next part. If I get a HDMI connector for the PS3 will connecting it to a DVI converter allow for me to use it on my DVI monitor(19 inch 1440 x 900, should support 720)? what happens to the sound? since i know that the HDMI carries the audio as well how does that split off?

no to your first part. and you can use hdmi to dvi, but for sound you will need to leave the av cables hooked up If you have a home theater, I use my monitor from time to time, and hook up the av cables through the sound card, i got the hdmi to dvi cable from ebay

The monitors can support 1080p over GameSwitch:
Asus 20", Dell 24", Acer 20", LG 20", ViewSonic 19"

Apple monitor is not suggested to use in this situation. Other brands should at least reach 720p.

Above is the information I collected, hope it helps...
