When XP starts, a "Norton" file window pops up and I can't find any way to
prevent it. Probably simple, but not for me.

Thanks Justagirl, but Norton is not listed. Probably because
I'm using Norton Ghost only.

There must be a way in the Norton Settings or preferences that causes this to load at startup. If there is a tool menu, or help file you could look there.
Also, See what's loading in xp startup by going to start>run>type in msconfig and hit okay. If you can find the thing that is loading when your pc starts, you can clear the box next to it to prevent it from running automatically.
